The Mediterranean is divided into three culinary regions:

  • North African (Morocco, Algeria, Tunisia)
  • Eastern Mediterranean (Egypt, Greece, Israel, Palestine, Libya, Lebanon, Syria, and Turkey)
  • Southern European (Italy, French, Spain, Greece, Cyprus, Malta, Portugal 

It is known that people who live this lifestyle, are less likely to develop high blood pressure, high cholesterol, heart disease or obesity.
